It is my understanding that the original treos were manufactured in this country and were extremely reliable units. I give them credit for making the effort to do this. What screwed the treo was its late arrival to the consumer market due mainly to bad agreements with unscrupulous, underfunded oems and maybe some complacency on the part of management. You cant just sit around and wait for your licensed product to be produced, especially when it is months late. RPs canned responses to shareholders during that time were ridiculous and unchanging for months as shareholders pulled their hair out (sometimes literally, judging by some of the pics on Deitrichs site).
