nothing of a distillery, or what he would be referencing. The Kentucky Tequila is the anejo (Besado). That's what was discussed. That may be why they didn't seek a COLA for the anejo yet and they still plan the imminent launch of Kentucky Tequila.
TSB could announce the launch is imminent and apply for the COLA next February. I sure hope your brother is careful. Some folks at TEXX want Alonzo real real bad for what he did to them and are watching the Florida Bar decision closely. Your brother should consider that before investing money.
It's not a distillery as far as I know. When looking for Besado LLC (which I found in Louisiana, not TX or FL where we were initially looking), I also found a Dziaq LLC and a Kentucky Tequila LLC, both also registered by AP in Louisiana.
As I mentioned in a post a couple weeks ago though, the Mexican authorities are very, very strict about who can use the term "tequila" on their bottle and they police illegal uses of it in other nations.
I'm not really sure about possible issues with the Besado label referring to it as a tequila (let alone a 100% agave tequila), given that it is apparently being bottled in Florida, but I am absolutely sure a beverage maker can't label something "Kentucky Tequila" and not expect to have some problems. Same reason you can't have "Florida Bourbon" or "Texas Scotch" or "Louisiana Champagne"...
