All Windows operating systems provide a Print Screen copy/past capability. Pressing the keyboard Print Screen button copies your desktop and any open windows to the "clipboard". You then open Microsoft Paint and paste. Crop, edit, re-size and add notes then save the picture to a file.
Windows 7 O/S also has a Snipping tool included...you may have to type Snipping Tool into the search window to activate the program and save it to your desktop.
Gadwin Systems offers two free PrintScreen programs that can be downloaded to your machine - I use both the 64-bit and the 32-bit programs.
