Insight Components finally has Opteron 244 in stock. While they have had the 240 and 242 since launch this is the first time they have had the 244. This may indicate it is finally becoming more available.

Here is a certainty. AMD will lose money in Q2. And its cash will decrease.

Continued losses and continued cash decrease will result in AMD's inability to pay its bills when they come due. That is the recipe for bankruptcy, or if you prefer BANKRUPTCY.

Darbes, have you read my recent posting on the more or less vanished price discrepancy between official and free market pricing? It seems that the inventory dumping has come to an end. What I strongly disagree with is the $100 ASP. Last quarter, ASPs have been calculated to be in the 60-65 US$ range. So we could be happy with 70 US$ ASPs, but 100 is totally unrealistic, imho. I made the mistake several times to try and estimate ASPs from pricewatch pricing and other sources, but it doesn´t work that way, as I had to learn at each of the following CCs. As far as that is concerned, always expect the worst, and there will be a small chance of not getting dissapointed at the CC :-)

So far, I´ve been (strongly) dissapointed with the quarterly earnings for the last six quarters. This time, I won´t put my hopes up, I expect to be disappointed. Will be interesting to see what happens then ;-)
