Your issue with GAMECHANGiNG is an inability to understand what the simple video and the partial nephrectomy or chole video illustrate from a control standpoint . So yes a qualifier is in place for you and the vast majority of individuals that have not operated a scope , used a robot or even placed a single suture. The technology is game changing although true it is a console like the DaVinci system ergonomic friendly ,but some key differences really advance the technology .
I have tried to explain the difference before but once more just for old times sake pick up a screw driver and use those motions only involve your wrist and shoulder joint ie: DaVinci . Then pick up that screwdriver and place the screw using wrist elbow shoulder ( multiple joints ) the T-Rex feel is replaced by confidence and ease of task performed .
The simpler a task is to perform with a piece of equipment the faster the learning curve and the ease of training to complete such task . My opinion is surgeons trained on the DaVinci ( like Dak and others on here ) will take to SPORT like a duck to water . Currently those are the individuals that will really understand just how GAMECHANGING the technology really is . Add the fact the system is easily moved room to room lower initial investment and so much more user friendly I consider it a giant step by a smaller machine .
How ridiculous to say the Nokia phone and IPHONE are both handheld phones and so the IPHONE is not a gamechanger? Review those comments when working prototypes are sold you like many others may say Holy Cow Batman we should have bought more !!!
