Make sure you won't regret it if they do announce the merger. One thing I learned from professional gamblers in the UK is, it's not hard to pick the right bets. It's placing the right amount of money. Money management.

So if you invest 1% of your wealth here while investing 5% in AAPL because it seems like a safer investment then you sort of missed the point :-). And if you put all of your money on this stock then you're gambling, and you won't last long either.
Whether you pay 0.70 or 0.80 for the stock now shouldn't matter much.
