Scaling, how large a part a printer can produce, is another obstacle in AM production. The printer makers are always in competition to scale the biggest machine and SGLB has not expressed interest in this foray. Bypassing post-build inspection and filling regulatory requirements will be the key for their success. And I believe this is being done behind the scenes as GE plans to print 40,000 nozzles by 2020 and at the rate of centimeters per hour (cm3/hr).
