#22500 RE: idcc2006 #22499

idcc and regis. I am going to concede I am wrong on this. But here is h the problem I have if I am wrong--based on 30 years as an ad copywriter who sometimes helps develop names for companies, products and services.

If Jonnie Williams has a company with a vaping product called Nicobine that does not have anatabine, someone gave him very bad advice. There is no excuse. Someone should have told him that the "bine" would suggest anatabine, a compound to which he is still linked. Who could miss that or play innocent?

Add to that the carefully worded copy that says, "our many years of experience in tobacco and nicotine related sciences have helped us to uncover many amazing discoveries..."

Plus the tag line, "Feel Good." Yes, you could argue that that is just a way to say enjoyable, but again, taken in total, I think it is in very bad taste to allow all of these messages to point toward anatabine.

So I have no problem admitting I may be wrong. But in my opinion, (I will say this politely), not enough effort was made to distance nicobine from anatabine in name and benefits.
