I understand your sentiment, as I've been burned by reverse splits when done merely to pump up the share price to be able to stay on an exchange. Those companies were usually in big trouble to begin with, which is why they no longer qualified for the minimum price requirements of their exchange.
Been burned by a couple of those (DSCO comes to mind) but to be honest, it wasn't the stock split that made them a bad investment, it was the company itself.
