I know there are trades between MM's and shareholders by stock which are the retail sales, what other kind of transactions are there? Please elaborate?

No clue. Can shareholders trade these shares directly? Or do they HAVE to go through MMs?

Not my area. I'm just speculating that there are multiple kinds of "shenanigan" type trades.
