There were a few other reasons too that I don't think just reducing the price would have fixed. Windows 8 had a very bad name -people did not go 'overwhelmingly' for anything associated with it! It was also confusing making it look like the Intel machine and calling it a similar name when it should have been pitched more for the Chrome market. Add on that there were very few apps, if they had an Android emulator like Tizen it might have helped. Personally I don't know what was running though MS's tiny mind when they released it - possibly all their thoughts were occupied by the problems with Windows 8 and they had none left for RT.

What are you doing here? Call MS and become an advisor and tell them that is what it should do going forward. Reinvent RT with your price and features in mind.
RT is dead regardless of what happened.
