What exactly did he do or say to put his reputation on the line in your mind? People conduct studies with drugs to assess their effect on cancer, and drugs fail all the time. That failure doesn't sully anyone's reputation, unless of course the results are hype and distorted, especially if the person is on the company payroll. Now why don't you provide some specifics instead of throwing out some comment like why would he risk his reputation.
