It is getting smaller and smaller.
I was in Costco again today and am further amazed at the shrinking floor/shelf space devoted to DVDs.
I'm not exaggerating to say that Costco movies nowadays are given only about 1/5 the space that are assigned to books.
We are witnessing the dramatic decline in hard copy movie sales.

Noteworthy too are the prices Costco charges compared to a year ago. These things aren't cheap anymore! An excellent film recently stocked is 'The Spy Who Came in From the Cold', featuring Richard Burton. The want 19.99 for it!

I also note that animation/Children's movies retain a strong presence at Costco. This is an area Parkinson has shrugged off as not interesting to him anymore in an interview just before OAS was released.

Indie Films are being stocked in greater numbers. Costco has a white and red sticker on these DVDs which reads: "I love Indie Films". I take it there is a growing demand for non-studio movies.

Supplanting this is the rise of and growing preference for digital streaming of movies.
The future is no longer in making DVDs/blue-rays.

So where is VODWiz then? Precious time is running out to gain a foothold in the digital streaming arena.

Books seem to remain in strong demand; at least at Costco. This makes the demise of the book division at HH all the more regrettable and puzzling.
