Transaction verification is based on people using bitcoins, and charging fees for using bitcoins. Since there is a limited number of bitcoins, the price should go up in the near future.
Banks are not accepting bitcoins. So this is all based on a bitcoin economy that is not here, and from a 1000.00 high per bitcoin, to its current price of 260.00 per bitcoin, it's not clear that there will ever be an economy based on bitcoins.
Charles Allen is betting on the theory that the price of the bitcoin will go up.
