re volume
If the reports that the MacBook remains "available" are true and volume production hasn't yet occurred, it sounds gloomily like there's not as much buying as ogling. It would be nice to know Amazon's sales volume, to know whether Amazon rankings mean much. Apple claims to ship in 1-5 days; if production volume is light, how in-demand can it be?
The MacBook is powerful enough that folks not looking to do heavy-lifting with a GPU may be pulled off the Pro model (until Merom ships), but we're not exactly yet in a pre-semester buying season (graduation is more about iPods than working machines, eh?). This looks like a quarter where I'll have to wait for the numbers, because I don't see where it's going on my own. And I suppose I'll get put some shares in July ....
