After four decades in its storied Wisconsin Avenue building,
Fannie Mae plans to return to its much earlier roots by making downtown Washington, DC, its new corporate headquarters. Earlier in the year, the GSE selected the current site of The Washington Post, on 1150 15th Street, NW, as its future home, debunking speculation that it might relocate to the waterfront.

But don?t expect the move to happen overnight. ?It could be several years before we begin the transition into the new building,? Andy Wilson, spokesman for Fannie, told Inside the GSEs?
Remember the big hit that Freddie Mac took in the fourth quarter due to losses on its holdings of derivatives, which are used to hedge ?

A new report from the Urban Institute notes that in the coming quarters, as interest rates rise, the ?accounting loss? likely will reverse?

Maybe suggest the banks are selling F safer paper?

And I think I recall that one outcome - maybe 12 months ago - from the MESS was the F and F put out more specific guidelines on what they do not want ??

ring any bell?
