Until KBLB starts looking to get in on that,

They are:

Our third line of products, which we refer to as “Gen 3 technical and medical fiber,” is designed to move beyond the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of natural spider silk. Gen 3 fibers are in a relatively early stage of development and will incorporate such elements as antibacterial agents for medical use, and metallic ions for use in industrial processes.

I don't know how many times this needs said. KBLB will not be getting into any specific business. They will be making money from those that do. I do not know what business jayones family is in....but I am betting there are many deals being made. I do not know when it will result in revenue for KBLB, but the ball is rolling.

So it is technically wrong to say KBLB needs to focus on anything, but production increases globally. The people KBLB signs deals with will do all the focusing, and we will be along for the ride. So again, KBLB will not focus on the medical field, but you can bet someone is. This potentially includes any thing Spiber has resolved to accomplish. So also KBLB will not compete with anyone, until they are doing the exact same thing we have already done, and have the same business model. Someone else will compete on our behalf.

You can see how Kim's and Jon's efforts would need to be focused on getting deals signed and seeing others succeed using MS. Medical uses might be successful early, but regulations will slow their commercial impact. So we are looking for the Nike, or Addidas pathway to pay off sooner....the mundane uses. Obviously the companies aren't mundane. Mundane speaks to the non-regulated uses for MS.

I can find silk being used for medical purposes, but do not know where they are getting their silk.....

Silk has several unique properties including:
• Toughness and strength
• Advanced lubrication
• Controllable in vivo degradation
• Biocompatibility
• Learn more

Maybe(speculation) Kim isn't the only one keeping secrets. Even if they aren't using MS, they could with increased toughness and strength eventually be using it, with existing technologies.
