Added anatabine could be either from tobacco plant extract or from synthesized. Synthesized anatabine cannot be used without approval from FDA who solemnly declared anatabine as a drug (for the enormous benefit of Rock Creek eventually IMO). Using extracted anatabine might not be very practical, but that's just an opinion with no real experience in extracting one, neither industrial nor laboratory scale.
