Uhhhhhhhhh, no. There are shorts in every stock, even AAPL, the grandaddy of the stock market at this moment! Without shorts there would be no massive moves in large cap stocks. Small cap and OTC stocks can also have large moves when there is active shorting (to the downside) and to the upside when buyers show up and the short sellers are forced to buy back thier short positions. This is the driving forcee of the market and it happens everywhere.
