well, the bottom rung *is* $100 more than the old model - boooo. But, you get a lot, IMO, for that:
larger screen and higher rez, Core Duo and FSB are faster, iSight, remote, 60GB drive vs 40GB, Audio I/O both Analog/Digital (the iBook needed a USB adapter thingie for audio in, and had no digital audio out), DVI out, monitor spanning support, they kept the size down. The onboard graphics, plus or minus I do not know?
But, hopefully they can knock something off that before the back to school or holiday shopping crowd. They'll probably have iPod bundle deals - they seem to like that better than price cuts.
It will be interesting to see what Dell has an equivalent book priced at.
