I think that you and I see the standards issue differently. Where you call it "an extenuating circumstance" I see it as the necessary step before wide-spread adoption is possible. GE is committed to the LEAP engine and the fuel nozzle. They can test and certify their own parts. GE has been at this seriously for years, to the point that GE bought Morris Technologies so as to acquire that level of expertise in one step. How many other OEMs are anywhere near GEs current level of readiness to go to production on AM parts? If they are out there, I have missed the PRs.

While I remain confident that PrintRite is going to be accepted, I am becoming more aware of how long the process is for it to become commonly used. No real monster revenues until it is commonly used. Perhaps the contract printing will be more lucrative than I believe, as Sigma makes prototypes and small run batches.

That all remains to be seen, but I still hold to the idea that the standards will have to be defined and adopted before AM gets real traction for production. That is where the money is.
