Driftin, The short answer is they are both first! The main difference is one is a ROCKET engine the other is a JET engine. I was a jet engine mechanic in the U.S.N. ,and am now a precision machinist (30 yrs in the trade).My opinion is the jet engine is far more complicated and difficult to produce using AM than a rocket.Even though both would need precision machining after AM, the jet with it's high rpm rotation and bearing surfaces would be quite an accomplishment.Both really neat tho.
