This, my friend, is also going to happen to mobile phones and sooner than you think. Already today, the amount of innovation from one generation to the next isn't reason enough to upgrade. And no, US provider subsidies are not the model of the rest of the world.

With tablets, it already happened. I believe PCs will outgrow them this year.

Check Intel's numbers. They have been seeing single digit growth on a consistent basis.
