I think oil is only one factor impacting the price in both directions. It's not a simple inverse correlation.

I read it once and all it tells me is the US carriers are trying to take away business and subsidies that are given to the Gulf carriers.
That does not mean that the US carriers are LOSING MONEY, it just means that they could be making MORE MONEY if the Gulf carriers were not getting a favorable treatment from US Government rules.
How does that equate to their losing value? They are still making money in RECORD PROFITS not losing. They could just be making more. Does not translate to "sell because they lost value"...
