That makes sense. i checked pacer as well and did not see anything. you're absolutely right that it would be the USMS who serves such things except that, if it's the bureau, i think they serve them. I used to process some very special kinds of warrants for the bureau and they way it worked was that i would go to court and get the judge to sign the warrant and they, the special agents, would then serve them, themselves. same with Title III stuff as well. i don't know. i'll have to think about that a bit. if USMS served it, it's probably not the fbi is my guess. like i said, i'll think about it but my experience suggests something else. also, i got to tell you that i used to process another kind of document request at DOJ called a "summons enforcement" that folks who received them frequently misunderstood as search warrants. I guess what i'm saying is that based on all my experience, i couldn't really tell you what the frick is going on, unless and until i could actually read the darn thing.
