Mike,

Your thoughts & analysis is well done and thought out. . . much along the lines that believe, except that I'm not sure that ALL the contacts for selling body armor plates to LEOs is a completely a dead issue. If they work and save lives, which they have in the past, AND are 'somewhat' competitively priced, they will be purchased. A neighbor, who is a police officer and a member of the local SWAT here in Surprise, is open to hearing about them again. Police officers here, are allowed to choose who they buy from, and pay the price they negotiate. The City gives the officers a flat dollar amount [every 5 years] to purchase their own body armor. My neighbor says that most officers will spend those few extra $$$ over their allotment if they feel their choice is better than a somewhat less expensive brand. I'm told the City does not require a NIJ Cert., feeling the officer is going to protect himself 'with something that works'. . .

As you pointed out, the cost of production vs selling price for BORK is the question. . . I have ZERO idea what those numbers are. I do know that shortly before JB's legal battles began with the DUI. BORK claimed to have reduce the cost of the materials for the plates. Whether that was the case or just propaganda, I don't know. At this point that needs to be proven and substantiated for any hope of that direction being thought about.

IF there is any Resurrection for BORK, as it is now constituted & structured, OTHER products and avenues must be advanced and without cash that likely is not happening in the near term at least.

Regards,
KZM
