Hawk? You don't need 4K to implement Q-dots? HD with Q-dots as a intermediate?

I watched an episode of star trek the next generation last night off netflix on my 1080p plasma and it looked just fine, as did the blue ray disc of the avengers we played right after it. The reason to buy a 4k tv is the same reason I wired my house with cat-6e; i might not be putting 1000mbps through my network these days, but why limit myself to current standards when I can future proof at least for a while? 4k displays will play the limited 4k content that exists but I'm sure those old reruns we're all guilty of watching now and again will look better than they ever have. I tend to keep stuff for a long time though, I.e. 3-4 years to a cell phone, so I tend to replace my gear with items that will remain relevant for as long as possible. I hope that there are at least a few other folks with the old Yankee mentality out there...but when my 1080p plasma dies i will be replacing it with the highest resolution available and hoping for another long lived purchase.
