I am meeting on Tuesday with a counterpart in the IG to review materials and go over the current situation, to include the possibility of fraud, misleading materials, or other matters that violate law/direction/policy. As my counterpart is an actve IG, I will leave it to their discretion on the next steps to take in this matter. I will then take the guidance and move forward from there. I am fully aware the IGs mission and its powers/limitations. That being said, they do report to the most senior of leaders in the Pentagon and the hill. After 17 years of federal service, I can tell you one thing, when the IG talks or publishes a report, everyone listens and those with the authority/responsibility react and adjust accordingly. All I know is I am bound to report everything I know and all those I know are involved; From there, I will let the IG do what it does best. Best of luck.
