no, hadn't seen that. the next step will probably be machines in fully legal states that one can swipe their drivers license across to verify age.
The cool thing about the photo in the article is that the product on the screen is a test kit for CBD content. That means, for people who truly benefit from marijuana's medicinal properties can find out the CBD content, which is the pain reliever, nausea inhibitor, and appetite stimulant, and statistically, a cancer fighter. CBD has no psychotropic effects, i.e. one does not get high from it. Getting high is a function of the THC content, and breeders are getting pretty good at developing strains with no psychotropic effects for particular medicinal purposes, with little or no THC. They have also bred pot with astounding amounts of THC, i have seen numbers of up to 40% concentration. So one needs to know what you are buying, depending upon the desired outcome, if you go to a state where prohibition has ended... LOL

My strains have both CBD and THC. My plant breeding is concentrating on eliminating the odor of growing plants which in many urban-type settings neighbors find objectionable. I have pretty much done that, but the downside is that the non-stinky plants are not very resistant to pests. I will get it figured out, and more than likely before it becomes legal to patent strains.

The GMO folks would be all over that if there was profit to be made, the thing is, breeding with just phenotype selection which us hackers do takes a lot more generations than being able to insert genes from other plants, etc. directly to cause instant change. the trouble with instant change is that sometimes there are unintended characteristics that are recessive and aren't immediately apparent. oh well, that wasn't anywhere near what you asked, but even though very few of you partake, i thought a wednesday was a good day for a mini-camp...hehe
