That's the one I don't have a good answer for, so I am choosing to believe they'll go it alone :) ... :/
The problem as I understand it is that you have to file and sell shares within the same fiscal year. While buyouts typically take some time to complete, it could get hairy if it were to happen say around the end of the tax year or in the case where the buyout happened very quickly.
Again though, talk to a tax professional, as I only play one on message boards...
