#12162 RE: kmikesara #12157

Well, one thing that's different, that Steve wasn't telling you for the past two years was that he was "aggressively" hiring marketing people, so many, apparently, that they have to move to a bigger office.

A lot of people posting here seem to be under the impression that Destiny management has sometime in the recent past been subjected to an attack of dumb gas, including Dale, and now some sort of mass hysteria has them hiring willy nilly to sell a product that doesn't work, based on the CEO's delusions. Again, why would Dale sign on for this?

When the book about Destiny is finally written, it will be divided into two epochs, BB (Before Borland) and AB (After Borland). All during BB, Clipstream was handled by a superior engineer with no marketing skills and now it's being handled by a superior marketer with no engineering skills, which is how it should be. Everyone should get over the past, it's, well, past, the question is how do things look going forward. I'm certainly not certain how it will work out, but Steve's mishandling of last year's launch is irrelevant, that Destiny doesn't really exist any more

One of the founders of Intel (Moore?)said there are three phases of a high tech product, the idea, the engineering, and the marketing and all have to be done well. Let the games begin!
