Irvine CEO Arrested in Federal Child Pornography Investigation
The CEO of a technology company in Irvine has been arrested and charged in a child pornography investigation.
Qayed Shareef, 39, was booked Wednesday and is being held on $2-million bail, according to booking records.
He was charged Friday with 33 felonies, including lewd acts on a child under 14, using a minor for sex acts, distributing pornography to a minor, and possession of child pornography, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
The case stemmed from an internet investigation into explicit messages exchanged with two underage brothers in Virginia in 2013, according to several federal law enforcement officials.
According to the criminal complaint, Shareef persuaded the boys, identified only as John Doe #1 and #2, to, “engage in a live performance involving sexual conduct by a minor.”
Shareef runs the firm Adaptive Media, that describes itself on its website as providing online video management.
His life is pretty much over. I worked with a guy a few years back that was sentenced to 34 years in prison for just downloading child porn and it looks like Shareef did alot more than that. He's screwed
