The management can keep doing their job if they have someone that helps with handling retail (investor) relations. I don't care who, as long as it's someone that does it correctly.
For example, in regards to the search for a new CEO, which is something with high importance I'd recon, they can decide to allow certain bits of information to be made public through a PR.
This PR could contain a statement that informs the public of the current state of the company. Something simple like the following:
"We are currently (still) in the process of searching for a successor that can fill the gap that Joseph left behind [...]".
The above together with the tour that was given will at least show me that they are alive and kicking and are making work of a company that investors can trust.
