Joy, joy, joy!!!
As noted previously, I found the ever changing Starkweather calmare data quite fascinating! Indeed, I found it SO fascinating that I wrote to the editor of "Research in Nursing and Health" to see if she thought it was fascinating as well!
And she DID! She also found it fascinating that the journal article made NO reference to the "miracle data" previously published for the nursing meeting!
In any case, the editor forwarded my inquiry as to how data for the same group of patients seems to change MAGICALLY according to where it's printed to Ms. Starkweather.
I also questioned as to WHY the authors would chose to publish mediocre -- not even significant at one week -- data, when one has all this "miracle" data showing practically complete pain relief, resolution of allodynia, and 50% decreased opioid intake?!!!
I also expressed some CONCERN over the sudden appearance of the "brand name" of the device in the title -- seeing as how it wasn't mentioned before and its appearance now might be construed as "advertising."
If Ms. Starkweather's answers aren't REALLY satisfactory, then I may get my letter to the editor PUBLISHED in the next issue!
AND, if her answer isn't REALLY satisfactory, then the next step, of course, will be contacting the VCU "Office of Research Integrity and Ethics" and seeing what THEY think about it! Heck! I may go ahead and contact them ANYWAY -- just for the FUN of it!
