Why would someone have a negative number of unread posts on my list of people who are marked?

Matt, what is the criteria the moderators need to follow to ban someone from a board? For example, do they have to commit tos violations or is it up to the moderator's discretion? Also, does a board have to be a premium board to ban someone? Thanks.
