That is a really interesting burner. If it doesn't take too much energy or effort to make the fuel into a powder such a burner could have quite a lot of applications, for instance, even just heating homes.

Harry had touted the waste heat engine as capable of burning anything, for instance, there was that EATR project where he ran an engine on wood pellets or whatever. The Mark 5 engine is set up with a small combustion chamber that will have difficulty with solid fuels and ash. The boiler tubes would also soot up quickly and be difficult to clean. I think Harry claimed to be able to burn coal dust at one point, but like many claims, did he generate steam from coal dust, or just burn it into a dramatic photo-op open flame?

The end of January is the latest stated target for delivery of the two Mark 5s to Combilift. It'd be great to see one run.
