MM's strategically plant gaps all the time. This gives them the option and excuse to suddenly drop the PPS to fill this gap. Today's close at 60 instead of 65 is a classic example. Friday's opening will be at 65 with an unfilled gap between 60-65 at the MM's discretion to be used at a later date.
The chart looks all mathematical and scientific and in ways it is BUT mainly it is a measure of the group mentality of the people that trade stocks. It's psychology.
