Buying and holding longer term puts on spy , and trading around he volatility in a compressed time frame ( daily , weekly) with a much smaller apportionment of capital.

Also, one other reason I think VXX about to pop, the "j hook" pattern is clearly setting up on the daily. The next two trade days are crucial if tht pattern is gong to ring true. Meaning we should see a nice green candle in at least one of the next two Trade days.
