BAA-tread cautiously...Insiders have been dropping like flies on it...plus they suspended operations:

Barrick Gold Corporation (ABX) has announced that it will suspend operations at the Lumwana copper mine in Zambia following passage of legislation that increases the royalty rate on open-pit mining operations in the country from 6% to 20%. The new rule, which is expected to be effective from Jan 1, 2015, removes corporate income tax, but imposes a 20% gross royalty on revenues without considering profitability.

According to Barrick, the step of suspending operations has to be taken as the company will not be able to support the 20% gross royalty. The company expects to incur an impairment charge related to Lumwana in the fourth quarter of 2014. Lumwana's current net carrying value is about $1 billion.

I used to love BAA, but now it's a dog with fleas...expect either reverse split or bankruptcy on it...jmho
