Your absolutely correct. On paper I have 62% and 38% for the shares sold short. Typed it wrong. 68+38 is over 100%. My mistake.

Was doing some more research on shorting and found a cool site, which I should have known was out there but never paid too much attention to.

shortvolume.com

Going to make 2 assumptions.

1) the free standing "float" is about 4 million shares. That assumption is based on a few of the true longs that I trust along with the interview PT had with Midas a few months ago.
2) all of the shares short on the TSX have yet to be covered. Based off the fact there was 0 reaction to the shareprice when the company delisted.

Using those two assumptions, I have to believe the float is locked up, either by shares in the longs' hands or shorts. As in 0 free trading or negative shares left. That being said, unless there is some strange reason for a massive selloff, something has to give, almost undoubtedly to the upside. I fail to see how a big investor could enter this stock, save from the company doing a private placement. The odds are slanted towards profit for anyone that enters in this territory. By no means guaranteed profit, though I believe the odds are highly in their favor.
I also believe the company has a positive news buildup in their coffers due to the quiet period before the merger. Guidence on the education market that we KNOW for a fact has happened, along with a little name dropping could break the dam.

Bottom line: We have a perfect storm of considerable share price appreciation brewing in the near term. Much closer than I realized before looking at this with a fine tooth comb. The share price could double on little volume without anyone even knowing why. Even without the shorts covering. This is another reason why people who understand shorting say the shorts are in such a precarious position.
All of this is in my humble opinion. While the above is correct to the BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, it could all be wrong which would make my conclusions null and void.
