LFAP and Apple Healthkit

Apple Healthkit Gets Positive review by PCMag

LFAP recent news release touches on the release of new apps they are developing that will work with Apple Healthkit. I see the key here is the word "integrate".

Not only will the new LFAP apps integrate with Apple Healthkit, but also integrate with other apps as well. With the additions of the Apple Heatlh watch function with Apple Healthkit we are seeing a comprehensive integration of end users with health providers on a grand scale. From self diagnosing to the clients doctors, to the insurance providers, a total package of integration is coming down the pipe line. This is also mandated by law.

From the article above, it states....
Three major EHR providers—Epic, Cerner, and Athenahealth—have signed on to integrate with HealthKit. This will unite, for patients and health providers, medical records with day-to-day health data. If fully and properly utilized it could provide a comprehensive medical picture for not just individuals but for researchers as well.

While the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 mandates the implementation of electronic health records for public and private healthcare providers by 2015, the reality of that is a long way off. Completists of quantification will want their health information—all of it—available at their fingertips or on their wrists.

We are seeing the birth of an industry... IMHO. Many players are trying out for the team at this stage of the game. The collection and integration of health data is gold. The demand by baby boomers and health providers will drive this industry like the California gold rush, once we approach critical mass. The laws mandate that it come to pass.

As the previous poster said, the ex-CEO from Sony is not part of the LFAP team by accident. More to come....
