Hi SF

Well there is what Ocroft is doing and then there is what we THINK he is doing or our variation of what we think he is doing.

First off I dont use delayed trades. I like the idea in theory but I cant be bothered.

If I did use it I would be inclined to use a 13/30 MA crossover as a signal so I wouldnt have to figure out an Aim reversal. I would use it for both buy and sell.

Some people look at a 50/200 day MA crossover as a all in or all out trade signal. Besides being very late, you can and will get wipp sawed. But combined with Aim you get rid of that reversal of signals. First you are not selling all, and two, Aim keeps you from doing the opposite trade when the signal changes. Using Aim with a tighter MA will capture more of the moves without worrying about being wipp sawed by just using a tight MA alone.

If you use the delayed share amount you will buy less shares than if you use the dollar amount. You are using dollars that did not buy shares at a higher price so you end up with more shares. Of course like any change to Aim it will change when the next buy or sell may be so over a few cycles it might not make a difference. If you buy more shares you lower the price of the next sell. What difference does it make if both your buy and sell prices are at a lower price. I am not saying that is the case, but any change you make changes Aim, sometimes in ways you dont realize.
