#105921 RE: loanranger #105920

I used the phrase in quotes because that was the phrase the author used:

"wholly fabricated story"

This was in relation to an accusation of fraud communicated to who knows how many third parties then found its way public. I'm sure you agree -- somebody who confesses by using the phrase "wholly fabricated story" when accusing a company of fraud may find him or herself in hot water.

It would be like calling the police and saying the man next door is a serial killer then when the police come over you say, "Oh, that phone call? That was a wholly fabricated story. The dude next door is innocent. I made it up."

In this country, opinions and mistakes are fine, but knowingly making up crime stories, then confessing that you knew they were false and "wholly fabricated" them can get you in trouble civilly and perhaps even more so criminally. This is perhaps even more true when referring to a public securities. Now imagine if that public security collapsed 31% while that "wholly fabricated story" was being circulated?

Again, not referring to any IHUB posters.
