A pair of hero Con Ed workers risked their lives in confronting the monster who assassinated a pair of cops in Brooklyn — who otherwise might have escaped if not for their bravery.

The unnamed men had been working in Bedford-Stuyvesant near where Ismaaiyl Brinsley, 28, gunned down Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos at just before 3 p.m. Saturday.

They saw Brinsley wordlessly open fire into the passenger side of the cops’ patrol car, and followed in their Con Ed truck as he ambled away from the carnage, still holding his silver Taurus semi-automatic.

When they confronted Brinsley on the street, attempting to stop him, Brinsley leveled the gun at the two workers, and asked them, “You want some of this?” The two backed off, and Brinsley ducked into the nearby G-train station.

But the two Con Ed workers were able to tip off pursuing cops to Brinsley’s appearance and where he’d gone.

“That’s how the cops knew he was in there,” said one law enforcement source.

When the pursuing cops ran into the subway, Brinsley, who had been standing on the platform waiting for a train, turned the gun on himself, ending his life.
