I don't want to get rid of anything. Just have the most efficient out there. Once you start from the beginning you can set up for a full but efficient lifestyle. Even if I have to spend $25K for batteries. Do most of the heavy work during the day, saving the batteries. I always like this video.
New TVs are quite efficient. Hardest part of it would be creating a system that I can charge a Tesla! I agree with HUP Solar. I grew up until I was 12 years old pretty much living off the grid! No tv, no indoor plumbing, and one small oil heater in the living room for the whole house. I like the grid, and appreciate all the modern comforts! JMO but good luck to you. You may actually love it!!
