I think you are right on. But, I don't know that all companies follow that as a rule, but sure many do. Here's to hoping Monday is s good day.

Perhaps you're right about wanting to release bad news on a Friday after the market closes but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be wise to also release good news on a Friday after the market closes for the very same reasons. I'm simply saying that releasing financials on Friday doesn't by itself guarantee that the results will be bad.
