#27952 RE: cartonet #27950

BGMchap, that's exactly my thinking. The academic authors of that Farmdoc piece don't seem to be aware of articles coming down the newswire about Brazil's supply-demand mismatch, nor have they apparently listened to what the insiders in the industry themselves are saying, such as Todd Becker and Neil Koehler's remarks on their respective conf calls in late Oct. about E15 and Brazil.

The news out of Chicago about E15 was tremendous-- there will be a few-month hearing period and big oil may try to dump propaganda to sway the city council, but all the remarks from the recent NR suggest Chicagoans will be very proud to enact a green initiative and something which adds a lot of tax-money to the state coffers from the ethanol industry. Big Oil will have a tough time shouting that down.

And that Prime the Pump ethanol coalition group says they're making progress in other cities and regions of the country on launching similar initiatives to promote/expand E15.

That would really change the domestic demand situation and ethanol's market price!
