Actually they're not trying to stall the motion to stay...the government wants Sweeney to make a decision as quickly as possible so that the case will be suspended until Perry's case has a verdict...but responding to Ackman's amicus brief will delay the outcome from Sweeney that's why I believe Fairholme is not opposing the government to respond...
