Well in the hundreds of DaVincis I have done anesthesia for we have never had the need to reposition the patient with the robotic arms in place. The readjustments only occur with the placement of the robot not with table position. Sounds nice in a very rare case perhaps so I just don't see the practicality and extra expense. Both the new DaVince and SPORT have more flexible, over the patient swing arms that make the need for adjustments even more rare I would suspect. The need for position changes during the robotic phase of the surgery is truly minimal. AND IF they want to start using 900 pound patients in extreme trendelenberg than I will have to pray harder for Titan to reach 16+, because I want to retire before that happens!!
