I would say it's a combination of what you state above and potential future litigation.

The question that comes to mind is --> WHY file a flurry of prior art NOW? Surely, this must be in anticipation of litigation or as a show of validity to any potential suitor.

Add in the recent letter by general counsel regarding 144 shares (clearing up any "issues") and it seems to me that VPLM is lining up the ducks for something big.

Ofcourse, that's just my opinion.

Perhaps others who have more patent experience can chime in on why the prior art filings now?
